About me...
I am a certified school counselor at Elgin Elementary School in Elgin, Texas. This is my first year as an elementary school counselor. Prior to counseling I was an elementary teacher for 14 years. I have taught first grade gifted and talented, second and third grade reading intervention, fourth grade, sixth grade, and art for kindergarten through fifth grade.
I am a member of the American School Counselor's Association and the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. I have a master's degree of education in school counseling from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. I am currently pursuing coursework through Lamar University to obtain my license to become a licensed professional counselor.
I live in Manor, Texas, with my husband, three children, and two Westies. In my free time I enjoy camping, painting, hanging out with my kids at the pool.
Each day as a school counselor is an adventure! Yet each day I look forward to working with my students, their families, and our community so that TOGETHER we can ensure the best learning experiences for children.
